Les Lionnes FC coach calls for consistency after win

Huye-based Les Lionnes FC defeated Inyemera FC 1-0 at Mutunda ground on Saturday to boost their chances for a top three finish in the national women football league.

Afterwards, head coach Innocent Harerimana hailed his team’s winning spirit and called for consistency in their upcoming fixtures.

The Mutunda High School-affiliated club bounced back from last week’s 2-1 defeat to defending champions AS Kigali 2-1 to overcome Gicumbi-based Inyemera FC, thanks to the lone goal from striker Clautiride Uwineza in the 13th minute.

The win took Harerimana’s side to 5thposition with seven points in four games, eight points behind leaders and seven-time champions AS Kigali, who won 2-1 against Golden Generation FC.

In other games, Rambura lost 2-0 away to Kamonyi with Bugesera overwhelming bottom side and still-winless Nyagatare FC 9-0.
