Uganda’s celebrated artiste Jose Chameleone (real name Joseph Mayanja), this Friday, celebrated his 36th birthday in Kigali.

The celebration party which took place at Plus 250 Lounge in Kicukiro attracted a full house.

The party that was expected to begin at 8pm as was indicated on the flyers, kicked off later than the expected time.

Accompanied by Rwandan musician Dj Pius and friends, the Wale Wale hit-maker entered the house at 12:40am, welcomed with screams and ululations from his Rwandan fans.

Comedian Arthur Nkusi kick-started the birthday celebration with couple jokes, throwing fans into frenzy.

While some of Chameleone’s fans expected performances, it’s not what happened exactly.

Instead, the heavyweight cut the cake, served it and went on to entertain the audience with his turntable skills. Chameleone played for over twenty minutes and got everyone on his feet.

Another session was for their video launch ‘Agatako’ which he features Rwanda’s Dj Pius.

Dj Pius said that he was thrilled with the celebration party: "It was really amazing, I’m so excited for our video launch and I can’t hesitate saying that Chameleone honoured me for having given me his time and come to celebrate with us here in Rwanda.”

Jose Chameleone will today hold his most anticipated concert dubbed the ‘Jose Chameleone Birthday Bash’, which he’s likely to feature local artistes like Dj Pius, Big Fizzo, Charly & Nina, and Jody Phibi, among others.

The show is taking place at Class Club at The Mirror Hotel, and the entrance fee is Rwf 5,000.
