Yesterday, April 20, close family members and friends, accompanied by local authorities from the Southern Province congregated in Nyanza to remember the last Queen of Rwanda, Rosalie Gicanda, who perished on this date 22 years ago during the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.

First Lady Jeannette Kagame was among the hundreds of people who gathered for the Kwibuka Mass at the Mater Dei GS in Nyanza, before laying wreaths at the King Mutara III Rudahigwa’s and Queen’s final resting place, near the King’s Palace Museum.
