Rayon Sports is looking to continue a good run in the league when they faceoff with fifth placed AS Kigali in the 17th round of the national football league at Kigali Regional Stadium today.

The roaring confidence follows the side’s jump to first position in the league after a 3-0 win over Marines on Sunday. Rayon Sports lead the table with 35 points while AS Kigali are fifth with six points behind leaders.

Rayon interim head coach Djuma Masudi will have to rely on his dangerous strikers- Uganda import Davis Kasirye who has scored eight goals and Malian born, Ismaila Diarra who has scored five goals so far.

For AS Kigali, which has lost three consecutive games against Mukura, Police and APR before drawing against Rwamagana, the game will be a must win to stay in race for the league title.

"We have not been consistent in the last four games, but we are trying to recover and go back to our days of winning. It has been tough for us but we are in good spirit to win the game,” Coach Eric Nshimiyimana said.

Nshimiyimana will be looking to strikers Ernest Sugira and Onesme Twizeyimana to deliver results.

The defending champions APR FC are in second position one point behind the leaders. APR will play Mukura VS which is in third place with 32 points

Should Rayon Sports lose to AS Kigali and APR lose to Mukura tonight, the later will go jointly on top of the table standings with Rayon Sports, both tied on 35 points apiece.
