RE: "Needed: Proposals to raise education quality” (The New Times, March 29).

A lot has been done in Rwanda in the last 22 years not just in education sector but in all areas of economic development—thanks to our national visionary leaders.

I wholeheartedly agree with you that people should always think of ways to make things even better. Complaining about something and not propose a solution won’t do us any better.

I attended secondary school in Rwanda and when I was bestowed the Presidential Scholarship to attend William Penn University in Iowa, USA, I did quite well. This is just another example of how our educational system is among the best in the world.

If anyone disagrees with me here, can they provide one single example of Rwandan students abroad doing poorly? Even if they were conditionally accepted because of studying in a third language, they all do wonders in their respective universities.

We should all be proud of how far we have gone in the last 22 years. Even more development projects are in pipeline.
