RE: "HIV fight: Why ABC remains the best approach” (The New Times, March 29).

Please give us proof that the majority of HIV infections in Africa are transmitted by contaminated injections and surgical procedure.

Your assertion could have been 100% correct 20 years ago but today, that issue of contamination from injections and surgical procedure must have been already reduced to insignificant levels by now.

You say that authorities that cite the studies based on research have other agendas? Give us your research data before you can comfortably start criticizing them and stop assuming that no improvements have ever happened in HIV prevention programs since the 80’s when the HIV was discovered.

By the way, do you hold a Ph.D. in medicine, medical sciences or related fields? If not, then stop even mentioning it when you are criticizing scientists.
