Crystal Telecom gains Rwf2

The Crystal Telecom counter gained Rwf2 during low trade at the bourse to close at Rwf92 yesterday, an increase from Thursday’s closing share price of Rwf90, the Rwanda Stock Exchange (RSE) daily market report for Monday indicates.

RSE did not trade on Friday as it was a public holiday to mark Good Friday. Crystal Telecom recorded a total turnover of Rwf184,000 from 2,000 shares traded in one deal during Monday trading session.

The appreciating Crystal Telecom pushed up the RSE Share Index by 0.20 points to close at 139.66 points, while the All Share Index went up 0.03 points and closed at 129.71 points.

Bank of Kigali, the only other active counter yesterday, pushed shares 2,300 shares in one deal, raking in a total turnover of Rwf644,000.

The firm closed at Rwf280, unchanged from Thursday.

Bralirwa and all the cross-listed counters were quiet, and the brewer closed at Rwf157, Equity Bank was at Rwf334, NMG closed at Rwf1,200, while the KCB counter was unchanged at Rwf330, and Uchumi Supermarkets closed at 104.

There were 132,500 outstanding shares on offer at between Rwf280 and Rwf300 and no bids at the end of the formal trading hours yesterday.

On the Bralirwa counter, there was an outstanding offer of 23,600 shares at Rwf173, but investors were willing to acquire 326,800 shares at between Rwf157 and Rwf160. Crystal Telecom had outstanding offers of 169,700 shares at between Rwf93 and Rwf98 and bids for 9,900 shares ranging from Rwf90-92.
