For an upcoming artiste, Asinah’s first concert was great. The show, held on Easter Sunday, took place at Plus250 bar in Kicukiro, a Kigali suburb.

Asinah, ex-girlfriend of hip hop star and Primus Guma Guma Super Star Season 3 winner, Riderman, also officially launched her video Iz’Ubu.

The show, which started at 10pm, almost two hours later than the scheduled time, started with emcee Phil Peter introducing the performers of the night.

The stage was then open to upcoming artistes like City Yankees, Davy Ranks and dancehall and reggae singer Syntex (comedian Arthur Nkusi’s little brother). The comedian was also invited to the stage to give revellers a laugh.

Syntex, real name Arnold Kabera, performed songs like Let’s Talk about Love, I’m Blessed, Money, Indoro and Chocolatti, which kept revellers on their feet.

Urban Boyz performed Barahurura, Show Me Love, Tayari, Ishyari, Kubita, and Till I Die, among others.

They were followed by promising Afro beat trio TBB (Tino, Benjamin and Bob) that performed some of their popular songs like Unshyira High, Biramvuna, Iyizire, to name but a few.

Donning a black top, black pants and high heeled shoes, Asinah, real name Asinah Mukasine, hit the stage 15 minutes past 1am.

She performed most of her songs but Do It and Strength of a Woman, which featured Amy Blauman (Humble Jizzo’s fiancée), got the crowd excited. The dancehall singer gave a notable dancehall performance.

"Thank you so much, you are nice people, and you are very smart. Happy to see you all today,” she told her fans during the performance.

Active also hit the stage and thrilled revellers with their songs and energetic dance moves.

Some of the celebrities in attendance were TV10’s Kate Gustave, Miss Rwanda 2014 first runner-up Vanessa Raissa Uwase, and socialite Sandra Teta, and many more.
