RE: "Ill-teacher training: A cancer to Africa’s educational systems” (The New Times, March 23).

Train the trainers to become professional and efficient.

Keeping in mind that education can become a big industry for investment at once evolving our societies into better civilized world, we must consider the quality of our teachers.

It saddens me that most of us in Rwanda only look at education as a tool to grow peoples’ minds, while it can become a money generating industry for a nation.

For example, countries like Qatar and Malaysia have been investing in their education systems since a few years ago, now more and more international students are going there increasing the revenues to the countries.

It is being done by purpose to make Qatar an educational hub for Asia and the world at large.

Countries like India are already there.

Why do we always have to send students to Asia, Europe or America?

Kenya has been doing well in previous years, but suddenly it reached a point and stopped progressing; it would have become like India if it had kept improving.
