Women play a vital and powerful role in building peace in any given society, a senior church leader has said.

Bishop Geoffrey Rwobusisi, the head of the Anglican Church in Cyangugu Diocese, said: "Women can easily change decisions made by political big shots in all societies and that makes them powerful in peace making.”

He was speaking on Monday during a two-day seminar on the role of women in peace building in the Great Lakes region held at Casabonita in Kimironko. The seminar was organised by the Mothers’ Union Province of the Anglican Church of Rwanda.
