Assinah (real name Erra Mukasine) did not disappoint when she performed at the ‘Dancehall Pool Party’ last Saturday night at Beirut Sky Pool, former Aloha in Kibagabaga.

If the event was to confirm her stay in the industry, it certainly did. Despite being held in an upscale residential neighborhood, the turn-up at Assinah’s first concert was impressive.

Assinah, rapper Riderman’s ex-girlfriend, entertained her passionate fans with her notable dancehall style.

Assinah performed for the first time at the ‘Dancehall Pool Party’.

Despite interruptions caused by residential security watchmen because of ‘noise pollution’, the singer kept the patient crowd entertained and glued to the proceedings on stage.

As Assinah took to the stage, fans yelled and screamed. They sang along as the upcoming dancehall star played Iz’ubu, her first single.

The singer also performed songs like Strength of a woman, with Amy Blauman and Arielle Wilder, and Do It.

The show featured other artistes like TBB, rising stars Yankees, Davy Ranks, Arrie, and Emmy, among others.

"I was so excited because I didn’t expect all this; I was hoping to get some people but this is really incredible and I’m so grateful for the turn up. This is the first show I’ve held as I’m just joining the music industry; I didn’t have any sponsors but all that has happened is because I trust myself and I knew I’d make it if tried it,” said the excited artiste after the performance.

Assinah, who says she is a good dancer, added; "I’ve been dancing my whole life. I’m a good dancer and I think this is one of the reasons many people have fallen in love with my dancehall music.”

The artiste joined music right after she was dumped by Riderman after eight years of dating.

She will on March 26 hold an official event at Serena Hotel Kigali to launch her music career.
