Editor,

RE: "President Kagame, Rotary International President discuss further partnerships” (The New Times, 4 March).

It is very encouraging to read in your newspaper how Rotary International is doing great work in Rwanda’s health sector.

Kudos to K.R.Ravindran, the President of Rotary International, for this great initiative.

Partnerships hold the key to success and only recently the Rwanda Tourism Chamber (RTC), led by their Vice Chair, forged partnerships with the two leading travel bodies in India – Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) and Travel Agents Federation of India (TAFI) – during the India Road Show 2016 .

With the great initiative taken by RTC, the TAFI President will now lead his Board members for an inspection visit to Rwanda during the last week of March.

The warmth and friendliness of the Rwandan travel fraternity, together with the proactive support of all concerned government agencies, will surely win the hearts of the TAFI Board.

It is my firm belief that this forthcoming inspection visit, coupled by the successful discussions, will culminate in Remarkable Rwanda being selected as the venue for the biggest ever travel congress hosted in the country.

TAFI 2016 will see not less than 1,300 travel and tourism professionals jet into this beautiful land of a Thousand Hills during the month of September this year.

With a requirement of around 750 rooms for an average stay of five days this congress could well add a new dimension to this sector.
