Kamonyi vs Muhanga 3pm

Muhanga RFC will be hoping to avenge their 11-0 first round home loss to the Kamonyi Pumas in the Southern Province rugby league when they make the 36-kilometer trip for the second round clash today.

The bottom-placed Muhanga are aiming to add to their tally of two losing bonus points this season to stand a chance of making the playoffs.

Muhanga coach-player cum captain, Livingstone Muhiire is confident his youthful team, can surprise the second-placed side at their home turf.

"They will see a different side from the one they faced last time. We have beaten the Pumas before, and I believe we can do it again,”

Kamonyi are in second place with eight points from two wins, and will be hoping to win and keep pressure on the leaders Resilience RFC, who have 10 points from two wins against Muhanga and Kamonyi.

Resilience also have a game in hand against University of Rwanda side, Grizzlies (5 points).

Action in the Kigali Central league will resume next weekend with bottom side Kigali Sharks (2 points) taking on second-placed Thousand Hills, who have nine points.

Remera Buffaloes lead the Kigali Central league table with 9 points and have scored more tries than second-placed Thousand Hills while Lion de Fer are third with 4 points.

Remera Buffaloes and Lion de Fer haven’t played the first round game between themselves, although the match date is yet to be confirmed.
