Etincelles FC interim head coach Jabir Mutarambirwa has blasted some of his own players after poor performance in the 4-2 home loss against AS Kigali in the national league on Friday.

Jabir Mutarambirwa.

"Some of my players played as if they don’t know what they want, it was as though they went onto the field without a purpose. The club (management) has done everything to motivate the team and players must pay back,” said the former SC Kiyovu and APR midfielder.

Mutarambirwa, who took over at the start of last month following the sacking of head coach Ibrahim Kizito, says they do not have any excuse to lose.

"This is not the style we should have played and you cannot win without putting in an effort. We are not consistent enough, and some of the players have been playing like they don’t know what they want,” he stated after the game.

The former Rwanda international added, "We have to win games if we want to stay in this league. Players have to show their capacity because they are well motivated.”

Etincelles are second from bottom of the 16-team league table standing with five points, three ahead of bottom side, AS Muhanga.
