Kamonyi Pumas will be seeking to keep top place in the Southern Province rugby league when they host Rusizi’s Resilience in Kamonyi today.

The Pumas are riding on confidence from their two wins this season that have fetched them eight points, however ,they won’t be taking chances with Rusizi, who have five points.

"Rusizi have pace at the wing, so we have to close them down, they should expect a tight contact game,” Pumas head coach Adolphe Mahata Ntintenguha said on Thursday.

Resilience, who are making their league debut, have been working to improve on their rucking and defence kicking, and their captain, Donatien Ufitimfura, said, "We are ready for any game plan but we will be aiming to play quick passing and a running game suitable for us (small bodies).”

Muhanga will be looking for their first win of the season after suffering two consecutive losses when they visit University of Rwanda side, U.R Grizzlies in Huye.

In the Kigali Central league, Lion de Fer, still with no point this season, will be looking for their first win against Kigali Sharks.

Kigali Sharks have one point, but their youthful team has to regain confidence and endurance after conceding 11 tries against Remera Buffaloes two weeks ago.
