MUKURA Victory Sports take on Southern Province rivals Amagaju FC in the national league on Sunday seeking to make a winning return to their home at Huye Stadium after five years.

The black-and-yellow outfit will be hosting a league game at the newly refurbished Huye Stadium for the first time since 2010 and will do everything possible to mark the return with a win, according to head coach Godfroid Okoko.

"We have everything set for Sunday, it’s a derby but we have had good preparations for the game. We don’t have any injury worries, the mood within the team is conducive for victory,” the Burundian technician told Sunday Sport.

He added that, "We are excited to be back at Huye Stadium, a very wonderful pitch on international standards, we can’t afford an unhappy return. We will give it all to win and I am confident in my boys’ abilities for the task.”

The archenemies square-off on match day 10 of the season, which is resuming from a three-month break since November 7, 2015, due to recently concluded 4th African Nations Championship (CHAN) in Rwanda.

The Huye-based Mukura had two players Celestin Ndayishimiye and Yussuf Habimana with the national team, and helped Johnny McKinstry’s Amavubi to reach quarter-finals of the continental showpiece.

Beginning the weekend in fifth placed with 17 points, a win for Mukura will see them move into third place, behind leaders AS Kigali (24) and Rayon Sports (21).

Third-placed APR (18 points) and fourth-placed Police (17 points) are out of league action this weekend due to CAF club competitions.

The last time Abdu ‘Beken’ Bizimana’s Amagaju and Mukura met was on January 9, 2016, in a friendly match that the later won 2-0 at the inauguration ceremonies of Huye Stadium.
