One of the nine traditional troupes makes a grand entrance to the stage yesterday in Kigali’s car-free zone, carrying a member in a cradle to mimic how kings were carried in ancient Rwanda.

The City of Kigali organised the one-day competition that attracted three troupes each from the three metropolitan districts to promote Rwandan culture with a focus on the youth. (Faustin Niyigena)
