The weekend is here! If January blues haven’t affected you, then there are plenty of fun places to go to. Here are some suggestions;

Hobe Africa Festival

It’s going down this Saturday as Hobe Africa Festival concludes. Rwanda’s celebrated musicians King James, Nirere Shanel, and Man Martin are expected to grace the show. The show will take place at the Car-Free Zone starting at 6pm.

Bob Marley Birthday Bash

One love, one heart, Get together and feel alright. Come celebrate the life of a Legend Bob Marley, this Saturday at People Nightlife, Kacyiru.

There are special Performances from The Best Sound Reggae Band, and exclusive Reggae Music by Deejay Miller.

It will start at 7pm.

Urban Gorilla Piknic

It’s a free event, organised to create community and opportunity for art, music, play and fun.  You can now pack your blanket, treats and games, gather your friends and kids and come out to the Urban Gorilla Picnic.

Deejays like Cybersnack (Downbeat), DJ Nico (Beats &Breaks), Dj Gil Low (Piknic Special), Vasco (Tropical House), Djungi Alka (Bollywood Dance, Fusion Sounds) are ready to rock your night.

It will also feature games like Volleyball badminton, petanque, circus tricks, and drum Circle, among others. 

It’s taking place this Saturday at Juru Park, Gikondo.

Night life

Put on your dancing shoes and check out some of Kigali’s hottest nightclubs; K-Club in Nyarutarama, People’s Club in Kacyiru, Le Must in Kiyovu, Deep Club in Remera, and Envy in Kimihurura are sure to give you a thrill.

Sports

Don’t miss the CHAN games; the final is on this weekend. You can also enjoy some healthy work-out routines at Nyarutarama Sports Trust Club; it has an outdoor tennis court, a swimming pool and gym. Mamba Club is home to Kigali’s only bowling alley. It offers plenty of recreational options like volleyball, Ping Pong, foosball, billiards and a swimming pool.

Movies

This weekend, film lovers are in for a treat with "Creed” showing at Century Cinema, Kigali City Tower. In a movie, the former World Heavyweight Champion Rocky Balboa serves as a trainer and mentor to Adonis Johnson, the son of his late friend and former rival Apollo Creed.

It’s on at 4.15pm and 9.00pm during weekends.
