We need a paradigm shift in world order

RE: "Donald Trump: What would be his likely policy for Africa?” (The New Times, January 30).

The best thing that could happen to the U.S, the world and indeed Africa, is a "Trump” presidency. Political correctness has dominated the world order for far too long that it no longer resonates with the people.

I'm sure many are familiar with the saying that "politics is a dirty game.”

In Rwanda for example, the word politics ("politiki” as locally pronounced), the former governments made it synonymous with manipulation or outright lie. It is therefore time for a paradigm shift in world order (or world politics).

Trump is not politically correct, but his message resonates with far more people than any other candidate.

Trump's message resonates so well that trending "anti-Trump” rhetoric such as this article doesn't seem to cause any damage—polls are through the roof in favour of Trump.

Africa needs a president in the White House who will say no to coupe d'état or stop the killings in Burundi, and his word will be taken seriously and respected—that is Donald Trump!
