Hundreds of jazz lovers graced the 4th edition of ‘Jazz Junction Party’ featuring local urban Afro fusion outfit Neptunez, on Friday night at Kigali Serena Hotel.

The mcees of the night, sensational Hot FM lady presenters, Hamish and Ash K kicked off the event shortly after 8pm.

Hebert Rock on the saxophone. He put up a spectacular performance.

The first performance was from the band’s Masha Mukalazi and Lydia Lillian Namudope, before local artiste Elion Victory presented his own composition.

The night also featured spectacular performances from Ugandan Herbert Kiggundu aka Herbert Rock, the band’s lead saxophonist, Chilean jazz guitarist Tito Al Uribe and band guitarist of Limbali Solo from the DR Congo who played Davido’s Aye.

Tito Al Uribe was the man of the night. The Chilean maestro whom Remmy Lubega the band director introduced as ‘an accomplished international jazz guitarist’ gave jazz lovers a real special treat with spectacular performances alongside his wife.

Namudope was one of the opening acts at the colourful event.

The annual Jazz Junction Party ended at about 10:40pm. The previous edition took place at the People’s Night Club in Kacyiru. Neptunez band will feature Uganda’s Maurice Kirya in an upcoming jazz night scheduled on February 28, according to Remmy Lubega.
