Picking a great pair of boots can be hectic for some women, especially if you are trying them out for the first time.

Joseph Nsengimana, a vendor at Rubangura House in town, says that boots made a comeback and are now here to stay.

"Ankle boots go well with the pencil-trouser type, like skinny jeans, leggings/jeggings. To make a statement, one can finish the look with a clutch, handbag or scarf of the same colour,” says Nsengimana.

Boots are elegant, says Nsengimana, and a great option for a night out as they make you look stylish but also keep your feet warm.

"I have many pairs of boots and I wear them every morning to work. I take them off when it gets hot. I love raised boots because they boost my height,” says Ysolde Teta, an IT specialist.

Jacky Kwizera, a fashion stylish who owns a shoe shop in Gikondo market, advises that with bright coloured boots, one should always opt for a plain outfit so that they don’t clash.

Knee-length boots go well with short skirts and dresses and even skinny jeans –naturally, the jean is inside the boot. Every woman should own a pair.
