Tunisia and Nigeria settled for 1-1 draw in the first Group C fixture of the day in the ongoing African Nations Championship (CHAN), at Kigali Regional Stadium in Nyamirambo on Friday.

Tunisia should have been ahead at the stroke of half time, but referee Joshua Bondo from Botswana disallowed Ahmed Akaichi’s goal in the 45th minute.

At the start of the second half, Elvis Chisom Chikatara put Nigeria in the lead with a score in the 52nd minute, to move his tally to four goals. However, Tunisia’s Akaichi made sure the points were shared when he scored in the 76th minute.

Niger 2-2 Guinea

In the second match, also played at Kigali Regional stadium in Nyamirambo, Niger and Guinea, each saw the net twice to end the game with a 2-2 draw.

Niger opened the scoring in the 37th minute through Youssouf Oumarou Alio, but Guinea equalized a minute later through Aboubacar Sylla.

The second half like the first half started with goals and it was Niger again that took the lead when Adamou Moussa Issa found the back of the net, five minutes into the second half.

It took Guinea almost 30 minutes to equalize through Aboubacar Kile Bangoura, but his team should have found a winning goal had they not wasted the many chances they created.

With all Group C games ending in draws yesterday, no team is eliminated but again, no team makes it to the quarter finals yet. Their fate will be decided on January 26 when they play their final games.
