Canada-based Rwandan artiste Ezra Kwizera has blessed music lovers with his eighth album dubbed ‘Journey’ featuring local and international artistes. The singer is also expected to perform in Kigali in December after his last concert in 2009.

The producer, songwriter and vocalist has been in the music scene for over 23-years with eight albums and 2 Extended Plays.

The 11-track album includes ‘Journey to Mali’, ‘Songa’, ‘Rukundo’, ‘Sifa’, ‘Bolingo’, ‘Mama, ‘Omukwano’ Ft Sintex, ‘Ajabu’ Ft Mani Martin, ‘Mavuta’, ‘Ameena’ and ‘Ninani’ Ft Nicolas Peks.

The album highlights life’s journey, not giving up on one’s dreams and striving to become a better version of yourself in life. Like many artistes the pandemic gave him enough time to work on this album as he says that he composed most of the songs on the album during the covid 19 pandemic.

"To reach any destination you must pass through a journey and things might get tough and that is why my album’s message is to encourage people to not give up. I want to share a message of hope, when life knocks you down get up and fight for what you want to achieve. The Journey is not the end,” says Kwizera.

The album he says, aims at bringing hope to those who feel like giving up because life is very hard and not favoring them. Struggling does not mean the end of your journey.

Kwizera notes that on the album some songs also have a message of gratitude to God. Through all the hardships and sufferings, only God can help you get through it all and give you the courage and hope you need to keep moving and get to where you want to reach.

Ezra Kwizera does a multi-cultural style of Reggae, Soca, East African Bongo and Pop. He has a linguistic agility because he sings in English, Kinyarwanda, Luganda, Zulu and Swahili. He opened a studio ‘Narrow Road Production’ in Vancouver, Canada in 2010.
