Kimihurura sector in Gasabo District has unveiled its new offices worth more than Rwf300 million constructed by the district in conjunction with residents.

The two storey building will also house Kimihurura Police station.

"I want to thank you all on behalf of Kigali City Mayor and Gasabo District. This building was built by the district in partnership with Kimihurura residents; this is a remarkable achievement,” Gasabo mayor, Stephen Rwamulangwa said at the inauguration last week.

"I encourage you to keep up the commitment and hard work towards national development.”

Mayor Rwamulangwa noted that the office is the first of its kind in all sectors of the country.

Commending residents for their good turnout in the just concluded referendum elections, the mayor urged them to participate in other development programmes to improve welfare.

Godefroid Muyango, the Kimihurura sector advisory council chairman thanked the district and residents for their role in constructing the sector offices and a couple of roads in the sector.

During the same event, best performers’ did not go unnoticed as exemplary opinion leaders, village leaders and members of the private sector were awarded certificates of appreciation for their work towards development of the sector.
