What should music fans expect this time during the End of Year Party?

We have lined up a host of popular musicians in Rwanda who are all going to grace the occasion. The musicians expected to perform include, King James, Urban Boys, Bruce Melody, Green P and Ollioni. But the main show is of course going to be Konshens.

Why did you go for Konshens?

This is a popular artiste known worldwide because of his musical prowess. We feel that it’s time for Rwandans to come and enjoy his music live. And the best time to do this, we felt, was during our increasingly popular End of the Year Party.

How many years have you been holding the event?

We are now in our eighth year and we are still going strong. During this time, we have seen the tremendous growth of the Rwanda music industry, and we have also grown with them, organising such events that seek to promote the local music industry and at the same time giving our fans the best they can expect.

What is going to be different from the past shows you have held?

The musicians are not going to be the same. This time we have brought in an international artist of recognized reputation to wow music lovers. The music is also not going to be the same since the wide array of musicians we have engaged are going to treat the fans with different styles of music.

Konshens appeals very much to the youth, who make up active fans of music, and we hope that he’s going to live up to his reputation and treat his fans to a memorable evening.

Again, from when we started eight years back, we have never experienced any problems, like to do with sound systems and stuff. We made sure that we ran ahead of time to ensure that everything is firmly put in proper order to have a successful show.

Tell us about the line up of the event?

Konshens arrived in the country last night. We have organised the Vibe Party at Century Park, (Chillax Lounge) in Nyarutarama tonight, December 31, to welcome the artists who will be performing during the End of Year party.

This is an occasion where they are going to interact with fans and there will be some small performances also to set the mood rolling for the Big Day.

The main event is going to be held at Amahoro Stadium’ parking in Remera on January 1st, from 4p.m till midnight and, as has been happening before; we expect a large turnout of music lovers.
