DJ Africano to play in Dar es Salaam on New Year's Eve

Renowned DJ, Africano, will begin 2016 in Dar es Salaam today where he is scheduled to perform on New Year’s Eve (Thursday).

Renowned DJ, Africano, will begin 2016 in Dar es Salaam today where he is scheduled to perform on New Year’s Eve (Thursday).

DJ Africano (real name Jean Ndizihiwe) will be playing at House Club Masaki, where Dar es Salaam residents will converge for the end of year festivities that will include fireworks display and performances by various musicians.

"They chose me mainly because I have a lot of experience in this game. I have entertained in many parts of Africa and it’s now time to give the people of Dar es Salaam what they’ve been missing,” the soft spoken DJ told The New Times before he flew out earlier today.

Africano, who is also Heineken’s brand ambassador, became a professional DJ in 2005 while in Durban, South Africa, where he had gone for school.

Apart from South Africa, he has played in countries like; Burundi, Zambia, Mozambique, DRC, Uganda, Kenya and Cameroun.

Recently, on December 5th, DJ Africano was at Bamburi Beach, Mombasa and also played at the Jungle Party in Gisenyi on 18th December.

He’s also the brain behind ‘We Are One Summer Beach Fest’, an annual event that takes place at Lake Kivu in Rwanda, with an aim of bringing together different nations and share a good time as ‘One Happy Community’
