Extra-curricular activities are those that go beyond the realm of the typical curriculum of the school. Many people tend to undermine the strength of extracurricular activities calling them time wasting devils. This is erroneous and the following reasons can justify the relevance of extracurricular activities to you as a student alongside your strong academic grades.

The research done by Carl E. Schlesser in his paper "The Correlation between Extracurricular Activities and Grade Point Average of Middle School Students” reveals that students who participate in co-curricular activities are three times more likely to have better grades compared to those that don’t participate in these activities. Researchers also discovered that extracurricular activities allowed students to learn life skills that benefit both their professional, social and academic careers.

Similarly, these activities will help you to discover more about yourself. Several talents are buried in you that you can’t discover until you choose to explore them and put them to good use. You become self-aware and get to know your strengths and weaknesses. These activities are extremely recommended for you if you decide to get entirely involved in them.

It will help you to network with new people to grow your association and establish you as a cooperative buddy of your niche. Many people today have got different career connections as a result earlier links rooted in their involvement in extracurricular activities at school. Students who are not involved in extracurricular activities in high school are prone to making grave mistakes that can negatively affect them for the rest of their lives.

The benefits of extracurricular activities are limitless. You should participate in the next extracurricular activities at your school to keep you both physically and mentally strong with a wide range of social network for enormous career opportunities.

student: Participating in different school activities is not wastage of time. Such activities are designed to help students discover and promote their talents, and most importantly for relaxation after long hours of studying. Try and engage in some of these activities.

Adeline Uwingeneye:

student: It is good that your academic performance is outstanding, so  keep it up. However, put In mind that school is not only about class work; they are several skills and knowledge as a student you have to get school in addition to your academics. For instance, leadership, social skills and team work, among others.
