Preparing for a test is like taking on an important project that can be ushered in with a strategic plan which you must stick to consistently. How you schedule your time is the most significant step towards passing exams and using your holiday to revise books profitably.

You can find many ways to fill your days, both inside and out, using both your intellect and creative energies. Be prepared physically, mentally and emotionally! Tell yourself that you are willing to engage in serious holiday revision to learn and perform better. Get equipped with all the academic equipment you need to use like your calculator, books and notes. Be pretty relaxed while you are studying. Excessive anxiety can cause you to lose focus and make mistakes. Allow yourself time to rest and feed on nutritious meals to boost your mental ability. revise notes on anything that isn’t your strongest point to cover all the taught content as you read from simple to complex. Identify a silent place free from distraction where you will often carry out revision from.

Remember, whatever the mind conceives and believes to be possible, you can achieve with the right attitude and proper time management. Holiday revision is all about following simple rules and repeated use of these rules builds understanding and confidence. Break old habits and adopt new better tools, as well as cooperate with your family members to offer you any necessary support as you structure your revision timetable. Expand your knowledge by investigating something you haven’t previously had time to learn about.

Holiday revision can be pure pleasure, if you read with focus.  I mean anything that broadens your knowledge, captures your imagination, that compels you to read more, creates wonderful characters and makes you pass exams.  This has to be a habit that you create and keep for life. If you only read scientific books or fantasy, read more mainstream literature or thrillers. Consolidate and sustains vocabulary growth. You will enjoy reading.

Ronald Athanase, sales person:

Find a quiet place around the house with no distractions and carry out your revision there. Keep in mind that every productive activity requires commitment, thus devote some few hours daily and do some revision. In addition, learn to manage your time effectively.

Gerald Matsiko, student:

Talk to your fellow students or friends with the same ambition and make a study plan. Studying during the holidays with your peers will be more productive. Besides, group work yields a lot since you help each other to understand better.

Chantal Zuba, student:

Create a study timetable and follow it strictly. We are all aware how it can be difficult to study during the holidays with all the distractions present. However, with a study time table, you develop a sense of discipline to what is written down.

Fabrice Nsengimana, student:

To some people it can be hard to study alone at home, so consider going to a library and do your revision there. At the library you find different people, who are also revising, and this they not only give you company and attention, but also courage to study.
