Orangutans; are they monkeys?

Wildlife study is such fun! I wonder if you have ever heard of Orangutans. Hmmm… I doubt! Let’s go on a wildlife discovery and find out more about these rare creatures.

Orangutans are animals which are in the family of mammals. They look so much like monkeys. But they are not monkeys!

Orangutangs have a simple nose that is undeveloped. This helps them to breath like any other animals.

Orangutans have very wide mouths that stretch up to 13 inches across.

Their arms are longer than those of people and are very strong. They help them in climbing trees and fighting.  However, their legs are very short compared to those of people.

Their stomachs are big and heavy. Also, their bodies are covered with long reddish brown hair but their hands and faces are less hairy. Their hands almost look like those of people with black long nails.

Female Orangutans only give birth to one baby like people. Baby Orangtangs are curious little creatures. They want to know everything! Do you anyone like that?

Orangutans love climbing trees and sometimes fight each other while hanging from trees. You may think they will fall down but they rarely have accidents.
