Tigo Rwanda subscribers stand to win a range of cash and other prizes during the telecom end of year promotion. 

Patrick Attoungbre, the company’s chief commercial officer, said there will be weekly winners during the ‘Tigo Bonane’ promotion who will walk away with Rwf5 million each.

He added that the campaign launched on Monday seeks to reward royal customers in the next 60 days up to January 2.

Other prizes to be won include free airtime for one month for on net calls and smartphones.

Attoungbre said besides the weekly draws, there will also be daily draws on Rwanda National Television every evening at 7.30pm,”.

How to participate

Attoungbre said Tigo subscribers will call or send an SMS to 155 or dial *255# and choose "Bonane” from the menu to participate.

The telecom firm’s employees and direct business partners are not eligible to participate.

However, customers will part with Rwf100 to make the call or send an SMS.

Last week Tigo Rwanda launched cross-border mobile money transfer services with its counterpart Tigo DR Congo, making it possible for Tigo Cash subscribers to send and receive money between Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

The firm is the second-biggest in terms of subscriber numbers, after MTN Rwanda with Airtel Rwanda coming in third.
