Cameroon and Ivory Coast booked the last two available spots for the 2016 African Nations Championship (CHAN) slated for January 16 to February 7 in Rwanda.

Defeated by the local Black Stars of Ghana 2-1 in Kumasi in the first leg of their qualifying tie, the Elephants of Ivory Coast won the return leg match 1-0 in Abidjan on Friday to qualify on the away goals rule.

Cameroon booked the last available spot after securing a 1-0 victory over Congo in Brazzaville on Saturday. The local Lions progressed 1-0 on aggregate after the two sides had played out a goalless draw in Yaoundé in the first leg.

Following the end of the qualifying rounds, all the 16 countries to participate in the 4th edition of CHAN 2016 have booked their tickets for the finals tournament that will be played in three cities namely; Kigali, Huye and Rubavu.

The countries that have qualified include; Tunisia, Nigeria, Guinea, Ethiopia, Zambia, Angola, Morocco, Gabon, Zimbabwe, DR Congo, Lesotho, Uganda, Mali, Ivory Coast and Cameroon who join the hosts Rwanda.

Meanwhile, the draws for the finals tournament that had been scheduled to take place on November 18, have has also been brought forward to November 15 at Kigali Serena Hotel.
