MTN Rwanda says it is working very hard to improve the network coverage for its customers, says Andrew Rugege, the chief operating officer.

"We have been upgrading our equipment so as to increase on the capacity and coverage of MTN,” he said last week.

Rugege explained that the network problem happens with MTN base stations and radios which are currently undergoing renovation.

He added that by next year, the network problem will have been sorted out because MTN has succeeded in upgrading its stations and services in the Eastern and Northern Provinces of Rwanda.

"I do not guarantee maximum network availability but by next year, problems will be very few,” said Rugege. He said that network can be interrupted by heavy rains or changes in weather.

He said MTN has successfully completed constructing 62 network towers in the whole country and their target is to construct112 towers before the end of December 2008.
