RE: "Gov’t creates new company to manage aviation activities” (The New Times, October 26).

This initiative is good. There are areas that has not been effectively tapped into e.g. the hospitality part of the industry, freight handling and forwarders as well as Airport concessions and retail businesses. This will no doubt increase the revenues and attract tourists hence increase the number of passengers which will subsequently position this country as a regional hub. The government needs to attract serious private investors to manage the Airport for profitability.

Again, I salute the idea of leaving RCAA out of the new initiative for regulatory functions. This will ensure that the new company to comply with International standards.
