Editor,

RE: "Govt studies Singaporean model on satellite cities” (The New Times, October 15).

It is very encouraging to read that the Rwanda Governance Board, in collaboration with the Future-Moves Group of Singapore, recently hosted a consultative forum on secondary cities, which will take place in Huye District.

Satellite cities will definitely fast track the economic development of the country and will halt the migration of both skilled and unskilled labour to Kigali.

This will facilitate the EDPRS II objectives and will ensure that regional centres of excellence will flourish as satellite cities develop by 2018.
