Prices for carrots and passion fruits have increased by Rwf100 in and around Kigali, a min market survey conducted by Business Times has indicated.

Prices for carrots and passion fruits have increased by Rwf100 in and around Kigali, a min market survey conducted by Business Times has indicated.

A kilogram of passion fruits now costs Rwf1500 up from Rwf1400 last week while carrots cost Rwf700 up from Rwf600 same period.

Meanwhile prices for mangoes, oranges and pineapples remain stable across major markets with a kilogram of mangoes going for Rwf1300 in Nyabugogo and Kimisagara markets respectively.

Potatoes prices continue to remain stable in most major markets costing Rwf350 per kilogram while beef is trading at Rwf2000 in Nyarugenge market.

According to Mary Uwamahoro, a Nyarugenge based market vendor, prices for general merchandise remained unchanged with a kilogram of sugar going for Rwf800 in most supermarkets around the Kigali city.

A bar of soap costs between Rwf500 and Rwf600 respectively in most retail shops.

Prices for tomatoes are still high tomatoes at Rwf10,000 per basin in most markets in and around Kigali.
