Editor,

RE: "Rwanda Day helps bring issues to the surface” (The New Times, October 4).

I have read with keen interest the many articles and editorials on Rwanda Day 2015.

This annual event is by a great initiative of the Government of Rwanda aimed at mobilising the Diaspora, together with friends of Rwanda to leverage what this great nation can offer in terms of trade, tourism and investments.

The whole world is looking at India today. With India’s business friendly government at the centre, a Rwanda Day in India is something to be considered seriously.

India is very upbeat about South-South co-operation and that is where Rwanda perfectly fits into the dreams and aspirations of the Indian government and the business community.

Further, there are a couple of thousands of Rwandan students presently in India enrolled in various courses and at different universities. These Rwandans could well be the backbone of a very successful edition of Rwanda Day in one of the world’s largest economies.

It is my firm belief that with the combined efforts of all concerned agencies, both government and non-government actors in Rwanda and in India, we could well have Incredible India host a memorable and an eventful edition of Rwanda Day.
