Police HandballClub have moved closer to retaining the national handball league title after an emphatic 47-14 win over University of Rwanda College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) on Saturday at Kimisgara youth sports centre.

It was a tough weekend for CASS as they lost all four games including a 47-14 loss to second-placed APR on Sunday, a 32-26 loss to fourth-placed Gicumbi and 38-23 defeat at the hands of Nyamirambo-based Nyakabanda a day earlier.

The four defeats left CASS bottom of the 10-team league table standing at 17 points and they will be hoping to do much better in the remaining five matches.

Police lead the table with 48 points, three ahead of APR while ES Kigoma are in third position, a further six points off the pace. Both Police and APR have two matches left including the game between the two sides on the last day of the season on October 10 at Kimisagara youth sports centre ground.
