Handball league title hopefuls APR will be aiming for maximum points when they visit Gicumbi-based Ecole Scolaire Kigoma and Karongi’s E.S Urumuri on Saturday and Sunday respectively.

APR are 9 points adrift the league leaders, Police (48 points) but coach Anaclet Bagirishya is optimistic despite having to travel and play twice in one weekend.

"The games will be intense but we have a big squad and those who show signs of fatigue will be rested,” he said.

APR have to win their remaining four games and get a good goal difference to have a chance against Police who they meet in the last match of season next month.

Reigning champions Police visit Gicumbi (30 points) who will be seeking to recover from a poor outing last week against G.S Rambura.

In Muhanga, ES Kigoma (35 points) who are chasing third place host seventh-placed Nyakabanda (15 points).

ES Kigoma coach Sylvestre Mudahari Shema expects an easy game against Nyakabanda for the school boys who have grown in confidence since their victory in this year’s FEASSA Games held in Rwanda last month.
