Devt partners hold Open Day in Rwamagana

The private sector, Non-Governmental Organizations and district development partners in Rwamagana District Friday showcased their activities during the Public Accountability Day. The event held in Kitazigurwa Cell of Muhazi Sector, was organized by Joint Action Development Forum (JADF) and district authorities.

The private sector, Non-Governmental Organizations and district development partners in Rwamagana District  Friday showcased their activities during the Public Accountability Day. The event held in Kitazigurwa Cell of Muhazi Sector, was organized by Joint Action Development Forum (JADF) and district authorities.

Present was the Minister of State for Local Government in charge of Social Affairs, Dr. Alvera Mukabaramba, Germaine Kamayirese, the Minister of State in charge of Energy, Water and Sanitation in the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Senate vice-president, Jeanne d’Arc Gakuba.

Dr. Mukabaramba, who presided over the function, commended the District for cooperation and urged the partners to always implement what they pledge.

"To achieve sustainable development, everybody should work hard and contribute to the development of the country. It’s time for residents to ask questions and advice you on what to do to improve service delivery,” she told hundreds of local leaders.

Members of the private sector pledged to help the district develop, provided the authorities involved them in their plans.

The best performing sectors in the district, based on the performance contracts of the year 2013/2014, were awarded. Mwurile Sector emerged the best performer with over 84 percent.

Rwamagana Mayor Abdul Karim Uwizeyimana said sectors that were not rewarded needed to perform better in the next evaluations.
