More than 3,000 women from all walks of life are expected to attend the eleventh Women Ministry conference at the New Life Bible Church in Kicukiro District.

The three-day conference will run from September 18 to 20 under the theme "Marry Him First.”

Speaking to the press at the church on Tuesday, Pastor Florence Mugisha, Women Ministry’s director at New Life Bible Church, said the conference would encourage women to ‘marry’ God first as the source of all things and inspire them to make a difference.

"The women will be encouraged to make God their first priority. God is the source of joy and satisfaction among other things. Women have to develop a strong relationship with God that exemplifies the love, devotion, commitment, faithfulness, regular communication and intimate fellowship typical of a healthy marriage,” Mugisha said.

She added that the participants will learn that ‘marrying God first’ is essential to succeed in all areas of their lives.

Sharon Chikanya, the coordinator for Women Ministry from Zimbabwe, said the three -day event will feature worship sessions and inspiring teachings.

"Women need to be inspired and transformed to make a difference in their lives. Our mission is to transform by preaching God’s word. Women will acquire some skills from the conference,” Chikanya, said.

Regina Mukansanga, the assistant -coordinator for Women Ministry at the church, said the New Life Ministry has been transforming lives and communities in Rwanda since 2001.

"New Life Ministry offers bible studies, prayer gatherings, workshop on leadership, ministry and managing homes.

The ministry graduates 70 vulnerable women each year under a programme that provides skills training and 23 women in the cosmetology programme. We empower them to make a difference in their homes and communities. We also assist and nurture orphans, needy children, widows and people living with HIV/AIDS.”

The guest speaker at the conference will be Rev. Dr Faithful Manjoro Mutibvu from Zimbabwe.
