Switzerland-based Quentin Rushenguziminega (FC Lausanne-Sport) and Lask Linz FC’s Emery Bayisenge (Austria) jetted into country on Sunday night ahead of the AFCON Group H qualifier against Ghana, slated for September 5 at Amahoro stadium.

The duo, along with Kenya-based left back Abouba Sibomana (Gor Mahia) trained with Amavubi on Monday in the afternoon session, according to the Amavubi team manager, Bonnie Mugabe.

Sibomana arrived on Monday morning.

"Rushenguziminega, Sibomana and Bayisenge have joined camp and they will train with others today, we are waiting for Salomon Nirisarike (Sint-Truidense, Belgium) who is expected to arrive tonight (Monday),” Mugabe said yesterday.

Tanzania-based Jean Baptsite Mugiraneza (Azam FC), Haruna Niyonzima (Young Africans) joined camp last week and were part of the Amavubi team that defeated Ethiopia 3-1 in an international friendly on Friday.

Amavubi goals were scored by Ernest Sugira, Jacques Tuyisenge and Mugiraneza while Omod Okwury consolation goal for the visitors.

Rwanda will be looking for second Africa Cup of Nations qualification after their first and last appearance at the finals tournament in 2004 in Tunisia—ironically, Amavubi pipped the Black Stars to the one qualification spot which was available in their group.

Jonathan McKinstry’s team won their opening AFCON 2017 Gabon qualifier 1-0 against Mozambique in Maputo in June courtesy of Ernest Sugira’s strike; while Ghana walloped Mauritius 7-1 in Accra.

Avran Grant’s team will play the Republic of Congo in an international friendly today in Brazzaville before coming to Kigali for Saturday’s clash.
