It was a year ago, during Rwanda Calling 2014, when we had the pleasure of inviting Mahatma Gandhi University to be part of our delegation.

So impressed was the senior management with this beautiful country, that they not only registered with the Rwanda Development Board, but also went on to establish their presence in the heart of the capital city, Kigali.

Just one year down the line, for Rwanda Calling 2015, this leading Indian university has embarked on a new and very ambitious US$10-million project to establish a state-of-the-art campus, with a swimming pool, football ground and other recreational facilities so important for the all round development of the students who enter the portals of this institute of higher learning.

Mahatma Gandhi University, which derives its name from none other than the Father of the Indian Nation, will always strive for excellence while at the same time, will comply with the regulatory authorities to offer quality education geared towards the all round development of the youth of this great nation.

Women empowerment is an important consideration at this university and they actually offered ten promising young ladies with full scholarships for graduate level study, who were carefully selected by the Imbuto Foundation, who were celebrating their tenth anniversary.

We wish Varun Gupta, Director of Mahatma Gandhi University and his team, every success in the land of a thousand hills and a million smiles!
