Dear editor,
I am so happy that Rwanda’s cabinet has decided that all education will be taught in English instead of French.

I do not see why we should continue teaching our children in French when we have little to gain from the original speakers of the language.

In any case, we have joined a community dominated by English speakers, and our children must be able to compete favourable with others in East African community.

In addition, Rwanda has applied to join the Commonwealth, and this calls us to use more English than French.

When our children right from nursery schools to universities, use English, they will be competent enough to meet the standards in those countries.
