National Football League side Musanze FC have signed Nigerian striker Abbey Natty from Gor Mahia on a one-year contract, the Club’s secretary general Moussa Masumbuku has confirmed.

The 21-year-old joins Musanze from Kenyan league champions having also played for Western Stima FC in 2012 and Muhoroni Youth FC in 2013.

He signed for Gor Mahia in 2014 but failed to earn a spot in the first team, which prompted the club to release him at the end of last season.

Masumbuku said, "We have already signed nine new players including Nigerian striker Abbey from Gor Mahia in a bid to strengthen the squad that finished in the 12th position last season (in the 14-team league table standing).”

"The worst position we can expect to finish in this coming season is at least fifth because so far we are a better team compared to last season,” noted Masumbuku.

In addition to Natty, the other new arrivals include; center back Abdu Nshimiyimana from Police FC, striker Frank Lomami from Rayon Sports, left back Mansour Senzira and midfielders Didier Nkurunziza and Ramadhan Niyonkuru from relegated Isonga FC.

Others are striker Salim Fundi (free agent), defensive midfielder Jean Pierre Mawombo from Gicumbi FC and right winger Heritien Kayitare from second division side, Esperance.

The Northern Province-based club have also released some players, among them, left winger Alimansi Kadogo, midfielders Jean Shyaka, Mike Mbuga and Criste Ibyimana. Musanze started pre-season training yesterday in preparation for the start of the 2015/16 season that is set to start on September 18.
