Mantis Kivu Queen: Rwanda’s floating hotel ready to sail

The Mantis Kivu Queen uBuranga, Rwanda’s first floating hotel is expected to get operational and serve clients by this year.

Fully built in Rwanda, uBuranga will operate on Lake Kivu, serving local and international clients. It is designed to provide passengers with a holiday including accommodation and entertainment prioritizing onboard amenities and comfort.

uBuranga boasts 10 modern cabins, a swimming pool, a dining salon, a bar, and a viewing deck that allows tourists to explore some of Rwanda’s desirable sceneries.

The floating hotel’s service itinerary will include sailing the beautiful Lake Kivu from north to south and vice versa, in addition to activities including water sports.

A source at the hotel’s management told The New Times that they will open bookings "soon” with different "exciting packages.”

The Kivu Queen is under the management of Mantis Collection which is part of Accor Group.

In its current form, the Kivu Queen will be deployed to confirm the reality that a fleet of explorer-class luxury boats can be viable on the fabled lakes of Africa and do so in no less style and sophistication than the best that the world of explorer cruising can offer.
