'ITV is feeding its viewers on lies'

This is a very shocking but no longer surprising development. From the look of things, by the western powers employing international media organizations to water down the facts about the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, it is a clear sign that they are trying to cover up the collective responsibility they had in the very genocide.

RE: "ITV is feeding its viewers on lies” (The New Times, July 27).

This is a very shocking but no longer surprising development. From the look of things, by the western powers employing international media organizations to water down the facts about the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, it is a clear sign that they are trying to cover up the collective responsibility they had in the very genocide.

When the Genocide was being carried out most of these powers, except France which became an active participant in the slaughter, were hypocritically silent, but the moment those who were carrying it out got defeated and the Genocide stopped, the same powers rose up like a storm and since then, there has been a sustained effort to play it down, trying to vindicate the culprits and making fun of the whole episode—turning heroes into villains and victims into troublemakers.

It is crystal clear that these Kambanda fellows were actually carrying out the assignment they had been given.

At the United Nations Security Council, they recognise it was genocide but deny it in practice. It is a shameful contradiction. If it was a genocide then who was responsible for it? If not Kambanda then there was no genocide in Rwanda. Simple! Why fool the world? What is the meaning behind such sympathy?

Can you imagine how the British and Americans would react and act if someone had tried to interview any of the Al-Qaeda prisoners in their prisons? What is good for geese should be good for the gander.

However, truth will never die and it will never be defeated; time will tell. The Bible has an interesting story about one giant warrior, Goliath, who trusted so much in his might but got slain by an almost unarmed lad, David. Even today, the power of might will not win.

It's the power of truth that will, because the just judge of universe, God, lives and His verdict will prevail.
