Mukura eyes glory redemption next season

The newly elected Mukura Victory Sport executive committee has pledged to bring back glory to the club following their appointment on Sunday at the General Assembly at the Huye district headquarters.

The General Assembly approved Rwf150m budget to run the club’s general activities for the upcoming 2015/2016 season.

Newly appointed secretary general Sheikh Hamdan Habimana revealed that their main objective is to restore the club’s reputation and bring back glory to the club.

"Our only task is to bring back Mukura among the big clubs in the country and win trophies as we used to,” said Habimana.

Outgoing club secretary general Emmanuel Ntakirutimana revealed that the club’s main sponsors would contribute Rwf98.3m while the remaining balance of Rwf52.6m will be generated from gate collections during the season.

Main sponsors Huye district will contribute Rwf72m while transport company Volcano Express have pledged Rwf16.1m. Fans will contribute Rwf3.2m. Last season the club used Rwf110.9m.

Meanwhile, Olivier Nizeyimana retained his position as club president while former club president Abraham Nayandi was appointed vice president replacing Gervais Baziramwabo while Sheikh Hamdan Habimana was appointed secretary general replacing Emmanuel Ntakirutimana.

The handover ceremony is scheduled to take place tomorrow at Matel Boni Consilli when the club will also approve its transfer program and priority areas. 

Mukura is one of the oldest and famous clubs in the country formed in 1963 with four titles Coupe du 05 Juillet titles (now Peace Cup) 1978, 1986, 1990 and 1992 making two appearances in the CAF Cup and five appearances in CAF Cup Winners Cup.
