Editor,

RE: "Rwandan entrepreneurs miss out on global expo in Nairobi” (The New Times, July 24).

I am so disappointed in the Ministry of East African Community Affairs for having forwarded the invitation to the Private Sector Federation (PSF) on July 16. They should not have missed such an important event.

I learnt about this event months ago, and my application to participate in the event was accepted by the U.S. Government, just by filling out an online application form.

At the time when Rwanda is trying to create more employment opportunities, through entrepreneurship development, among other means, someone in this ministry should have their eyes wide open so that Rwandans do not miss out on opportunities like these.

The EAC region is important to Rwanda when it comes to trade that can potentially contribute to the country’s economic development.

PSF botched this one. You missed out on an opportunity to promote Rwandan goods and services to the world in general, and in particular to the many Africans who did participate.
