This year’s KigaliUp Music Festival will stay longer in minds of music lovers who graced the festival. Apart from a big turn up, the event was graced by regional and international music stars.

Soleil Lauren was among singers that got a standing ovation.

The two day festival which started on Saturday, attracted Ugandan-award winning singer Eddy Kenzo and Kenya’s all-boy band, Sauti Sol.

Kenzo thrilled music lovers in an ecstatic performance which lasted over an hour.

Sitya Loss singer Eddy Kenzo was the centre of attraction at the festival.

Performing a variety of his songs, from the old ones like Zivuga to current ones like Sitya Loss, Kenzo took the opportunity to talk about his Rwandan roots.

"When I see all the beautiful people here, I am reminded of my own mother who hailed from Rwanda. Rwanda is a country I feel strongly attached too,” the Stamina singer, in company of his band said, attracting deafening screams from his fans.

Hiphop artist Riderman performs at the festival which attracted a mammoth crowd.

On the second and last day of the festival, Quantum split, a rock band from New York, put up an electrifying performance before Sauti Sol wrapped up what is arguably one of the best festivals this year. They energetically took the crowd through their trademark Lipala-dance as they performed their hit songs like SuraYako, Nishike and Nerea, among others.

Female rapper Angel Umutoni mesmerised the crowd with her skills.

The festival was also a platform for all local musicians including the upcoming singers to show case their talent.

Notable was Jean Luc Mutuzo, a music student from the Nyundo School of Art and Music, who performed his song African boy.

Another new singer, Angel Umutoni mesmerised the crowd with her rap skills while new-girls-on-the-block Nina and Charly impressed.
