Rwanda men’s national volleyball team will face Kenya in the fifth place playoff today at the Men’s African Nations Championship at the Cairo Stadium Complex in Egypt.

Rwanda will face Kenya for the second time this year after Paul Bitok’s side beat them 3-0 at the All Africa qualifiers (Zone V tournament) in Kigali.

"We believe that we have corrected mistakes we made in the other matches. We know that it will be a tough game because Kenya will be looking to revenge but we will give our best to win,” national team captain Christophe Mukunzi said.

However, Kenya head coach Geoffrey Omondi has warned that his side will come into this match aiming for revenge against Rwanda.

"They beat us in Kigali but we have a strong mentality of winning and we have brought all our best players so we believe that we will finish among the best five and we want to revenge because Rwanda has beaten us three times in the past, we shall be at our best,” Omondi said.

In the other matches, Cameroon will be up against Botswana while in the semifinals, Egypt will play against Morocco while Tunisia will meet Algeria.

The top two teams will represent Africa at the 2015 FIVB Men’s World Cup in Japan set for September 8-23.
